Collage Art

Mr. Jones died in 2015 .  His widow, Janice Anderson manages his artwork and included Bob's art statement for this site for all to better understand his artistic journey.  He wrote:

Art is about relationships, discovery and seeing things in a new way - suggestions from the soul, tempered with intellect.

The relationship begins with an object or concept which metamorphoses through the artist's experience - through the process until completion.  At this point it becomes its own entity with its own identity.  The relationship is then between the artwork and the viewer with his or her own set of ideas and life experiences.

Most of my work is about contrast and growth - the materials suggest, then I react, agonize, reason, compose and construct.  I find the use of the found objects, natural and somewhat inelegant materials to reflect on the wear of life, offering a strong contrast to an ever increasingly plastic and chrome society.  A sort of tattered elegance which, though of contemporary origin, emerges ageless.
